MY RESEARCH | FLORA | FAUNA | FIRMAMENT
For my Master's degree, I'm studying an endangered plant called Physaria pallida which is restricted to a specific geological formation of kind of crappy soils in 1 county of East Texas. I'm growing it under various soil and light treatments to find out if it just likes bad soils or if it's restricted to those areas because nothing else can grow there and shade it out. Ask me more about this if you're curious! These pictures were taken in April 2023 outside of San Augustine and include one of the first observations of pollinator activity (family Syrphidae) as very little is known about white bladderpod's life history.

DM FOR SPECIES IDs. All digi.
First 4 on 35mm, the rest digital. Texas/UK/Ireland.
Zoom in for downy woodpecker & carolina chickadee in my yard. New lab's scans were woefully small, which I'm kind of upset about.
Christmas in New Mexico. Each night I would leave my camera out, battery from full to empty. Intermittent 30 sec. exposures stitched together in post. This is ironically the one thing that would be easier on 35mm than digital and I would love to try again someday.
2024 total solar eclipse in Texas / 2017 total eclipse in Sawtooth National Forest, ID. The latter is what changed my life permanently.
